How do you define your business’s unique selling point?

Four years ago I made one of the biggest, scariest decisions of my life and that was to step out of my comfort zone of my 8:30am – 5:00pm, 5 day a week job and open my own business, One Step Conveyancing and I have to say it has been the best decision I could have ever made for myself and my family. One Step Conveyancing is not your everyday law firm/conveyancing firm, with conveyancing being all that we do and we are proud to say we do it well. We truly do care and understand that each property transaction is as important as the next and that is why we are always available to assist in answering any questions our clients have. We treat each client as if their conveyance was our own and understand what an important part of their life they are embarking on, therefore ensuring the have the most experienced and up-to-date conveyancers assisting them.

What is the most interesting part of your industry / role?

The best and most interesting part of my industry is helping people day to day in one of the biggest commercial transactions they will probably ever make. Conveyancing in a nutshell is the transfer of real property from one person to another. Although it may sound simple, when buying or selling a house (it’s not something you do everyday), it can be the most stressful, scary and somewhat unknowing process for most people. When buying or selling a property you need to make sure you have the right professionals guiding you and giving you the best advice and service possible. I love being a part of the journey for each one of my clients and for them to know that I am with them every step of the way making the whole process as seamless as possible. So at the end of each day they can sit back and know they are being taken care of. At One Step Conveyancing we work with you everyday to ensure the process is treated more like a celebration –what’s more exciting then moving into your very own home!

What are you passionate about, and is your passion also your work?

My passion is my young family and the balance I am able to achieve with doing something I love everyday. Until 4 years ago I never thought it would be possible to wake up each day and love what you do, I am very lucky. On the weekends and my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, that of my husband who I will be married to 10 years this year and my two beautiful children aged 8 and 5, both now in primary school. My weekends are mostly spent running the kids around to their sporting activities, going to the gym, relaxing at the beach and catching up with friends and family for barbeques.

When it comes to networking, what’s your top tip for success?

For me, networking comes easy when you surround yourself by likeminded people. I believe having an interest and open mind when it comes to other peoples profession and building relationships to help each other in achieving your goals and asking each other how we can help their business. Not all networking needs to be directly business minded, it could be as simple as catching up with an industry associate on your way down the street. Continuing to maintain professional relationships is the key to any successfully networking and referrals.

Do you have any changes planned for 2019 within your business? If so what are they and how will they benefit your customers?

2019 is set be to another big and exciting for One Step! We have just recently opened our second office in the beautiful beachside town of Woolgoolga which we are all loving being apart of the community. This year our goal is to continue providing the best service possible to each of our clients and industry referral partners.

Who has been your biggest inspiration?

It may sound corny by my biggest inspiration has been my children. They inspire me everyday to see the world through their eyes. When I am rushing them out the door in the mornings to school or to their after school activities, and they say something so innocent and completely off task, I try remind myself to slow down and the reason why I do what I do everyday, they ground me.

What is your best advice for doing business with other local businesses?

Communication and respect for each persons roles is the most important factor when continuing to do business with other local industry professionals. We love regularly meeting up with our work associates for a catch up and now being in Woolgoolga we are lucky to be surrounded by so many great businesses and community members.

Top tips for customer retention?

One Step is built on referrals and repeat business, without either of those our business would hardly survive, therefore everyday me and my team work hard in providing the best possible service in the business with regular communication and always working in the best interest of our clients to provide them with the most trusting service they could want.
